A former member of the Montreal Canadiens could be back on the trading block, according to a new report.

Many believed the Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes hit a home run by trading Jordan Harris alongside a 2026 2nd round draft pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for Patrik Laine this summer.
However, it hasn't been the start Habs fans dreamed about for the Finnish forward.
Indeed, Laine was injured in his second pre-season game and hasn't made his Habs official debut yet.
It turns out things haven't been going too well in Columbus either after the trade. Harris, a promising 24-year-old defenseman hasn't been able to find his rhythm with his new organization.
Harris hasn't scored a point and has a -3 rating in 10 games this season, prompting the Blue Jackets' head coach Dean Evason to scratch him from the lineup on a few occasions.
This left The Athletic's Julian McKenzie to believe Columbus could be thinking about putting Harris back on the trade block.
In a recent paper, he revealed that the Ottawa Senators should be interested in Harris, as they look for a reliable penalty-killing defenseman on the market.
The Senators' general manager Steve Staios could be tempted to get Harris and his cap-friendly $1,400,000 AAV contract with a year left on it.
In McKenzie's words:
"At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I still think this team could use another defenceman.

One defenceman I wonder about is Columbus' Jordan Harris. He was flipped to the Blue Jackets in the offseason and I'm not sure he's been a fit there so far. But it's early.

He can skate, is still relatively young at 24 and his ceiling is probably that of a third-pairing defenceman. I thought he had some decent showings with the Canadiens.

Also, if Staios could acquire salary-cap relief in some capacity, I'm sure he'd like that too."

Harris has a lot of promise and the Blue Jackets could make a mistake by trading him so soon, making this scenario unlikely to materialize.
But if they get an interesting offer, from the Senators or any other team, they might just pull off a move on the trade market.
