A new segment from the recent NHL on TNT broadcast included a debate about a potential blockbuster trade that would send Mikko Rantanen to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche are both locked in intense contract negotiations with star players this season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to negotiate with Mitch Marner while the Colorado Avalanche are looking to re-sign Mikko Rantanen.
With both teams facing difficulties re-signing their star players discussion has begun about potential trades involving both Mitch Marner and Mikko Rantanen.
The trade rumors involving Mitch Marner date back much further than those involving Mikko Rantanen but both players' futures in their respective homes are in doubt.
With both players not re-signed the crew at TNT decided to discuss a potential blockbuster trade that would end with Mikko Rantanen and Mitch Marner being swapped for one another.
The crew would go back and forth and debate whether a trade like this is possible between the two teams.
TNT personality Paul Bissonnette who is a defender of Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs does not see the fit for this type of trade.
He instead believes the Avalanche need to focus on finding stability for their goaltending position.
Paul Bissonnette went as far as to call the notion of Mikko Rantanen and Mitch Marner being traded for one another nonsense.
We are not moving Marner stop with the nonsense.

Of course this type of trade is a long shot to happen with so many moving parts but it would be an absolutely electric day in the hockey world if this were to become reality.
