The Vegas Golden Knights are once again looking like Stanley Cup contenders this season, and they may push further in by making a trade for a top Rangers star.
Despite coming into this season highly overlooked, the Vegas Golden Knights are on a roll early, as they once again look like genuine contenders in the highly competitive Pacific Division.
However, to go from that to success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they may need to make a big move or two, with Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report surprisingly linking them to a top blue liner.
It might require some salary-cap creativity, with the Rangers either taking on another contract, involving a third team, or simply retaining salary (or perhaps all of the above) to make it work from a numbers standpoint for Vegas, but it might work from a hockey standpoint.
We saw the team willing to take on a pending free agent last season in Noah Hanifin, and with Vegas always looking to push all their chips in, this would be an intriguing move to take a look at.
Given Lindgren's talent playing alongside captain Jacob Trouba in New York, it may be a move that the team don't want to make, but with so much money tied up elsewhere, it may make sense for the Rangers to entertain a deal.
Ultimately, there will be suitors lining up for Lindgren if he indeed becomes available, and unsurprisingly, if he does, the Golden Knights will be first in line looking to land the talented blue liner.
