After weeks of drama involving J.T. Miller, things have now seemingly hit a boiling point, and after a dreadful performance on Thursday, it's just a matter of time before he's traded by them.
This has brought up plenty of regrets for the team, and during his latest podcast appearance, Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal has revealed there were those in the organization that wanted to sign Bo Horvat over J.T. Miller, instead of trading him to the Islanders.
This report is a double edged sword, as Miller is clearly the much better player, and has produced like that in his six years with Vancouver, but in the locker room, things would have been settled as the young stars on this roster continued to grow.
When addressing the drama in Vancouver in an interview with The Hockey News, Horvat expressed frustration with the way things were handled by the Canucks, as he believed he was going to be with the team for a long time to come.
Things went smoothly last season with Miller despite the very well known feud with Elias Pettersson, but it was only a matter of time until things came out the way they have, and now, this appears to be a team and an organization in disarray.
Hindsight is 20/20, and if the team had of known that things would unfold this way, they'd likely have looked to move Miller instead of re-signing him, but now, they have to deal with the consequences of the choices they made, which will likely result in a trade very, very soon.
