Free agent Nikita Zadorov prohibited from returning to his native country
Nikita Zadorov, a free agent defenseman shares his thoughts on not being allowed to go to Russia as he embarks free agency.
Nikita Zadorov is expected to become a free agent this summer. The experienced defenseman is anticipated to attract interest and receive offers once the free agency market opens up. While for some players free agency signifies securing a team, for Zadorov it holds a greater significance.
Ever since the conflict in Ukraine started, Zadorov has been vocal about his opposition to the actions. He openly expresses his solidarity with Ukraine, and the potential risks of speaking out against his government. Now as Zadorov seeks a place to settle down, he is searching for a place he can truly call home.

During the season Zadorov contributed 6 goals and 14 assists, for the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks in a total of 75 games. Additionally he accumulated 125 penalty minutes while averaging 18 minutes of play each night.
Rumour has it that the defenseman is seeking a six year contract $6 million, per season.
