When Patrik Allvin revealed Thatcher Demko would have his own press conference to discuss his injury, it caught everyone off guard.

The goalie hasn't been able to play since the opening game of the Stanley Cup playoffs in the previous year. Despite his improvement, the injury is still preventing him from starting to train with his teammates as the regular season draws near.

The netminder provided updates that were mostly encouraging, indicating that he had been making steady progress and that he was finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, even though no timeline had been established for his return.
The goaltending community, according to Elliotte Friedman, thought Thatcher Demko had had surgery over the summer that had nothing to do with his current injury. The netminder acknowledged that he had visited a doctor during his press conference, but he also stated that there was no longer cause for concern.
As of right now, it is anticipated that the Canucks will start training camp with Arturs Silovs in goal. Dylan Ferguson, Nikita Tolopilo, and Jiri Patera will compete for the role of temporary backup netminder.

The goalie is on the ice early before the first ground.

He will speak to media shortly after he gets off the ice.
Positively, Demko conveyed his belief that he will return to full strength sooner rather than later by speaking about his injury with assurance and poise. In the meantime, let's hope for some magic from Arturs Silovs.
