As Pittsburgh waited for Sidney Crosby to sign his extension fans were concerned if he was looking to finish his career elsewhere to win one more Cup before retiring.

There was speculation before Crosby signed his extension today for an AVV of, you guessed it, $8.7 million a year, that he might not want to resign with the Penguins. Talk about him wanting to go play with Colorado, or go to a team that has a chance to give him one more Cup win.
Penguins' fans were optimistic that he would always stay. Today, when asked by Rob Rossi if he ever had a temptation to think about another organization, Crosby gave clear answer. No.
He further explained his thought process with Kyle (Dubas) and the conversations they had.
I had some conversations with Kyle in the process, you know, I think that was reassuring just based on what we discussed as far as, there is still hunger from the organization and ownership to win and the commitment there"
The signing comes on the day that the Pittsburgh Penguins do their annual delivery of season tickets to lucky season ticket holders. The extra lucky fans who had Crosby visit their house pretty much had all the media there waiting for the chance to ask the important questions.
Pens Inside Scoop asked him why he loves playing in Pittsburgh, and Crosby even said it is hard to put that all into a soundbite, but talked about his love of the city and team.
Obviously, the support, the people, fans, the organization, just everything over the years. It's been really special and had some incredible experiences and memories so I just want to continue that.
Now the Penguins can hopefully focus on the next extension of Marcus Pettersson and the start of the season. Great to secure the captain for two additional years after this coming season!
