Mike Sullivan, head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, gave reporters and fans a terrible update on two of the team's key players in Kevin Hayes and Cody Glass

It hasn't been a great start to the 2024-25 regular season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and things are getting worse. An update on two of the team's key players from head coach Mike Sullivan is anything but encouraging.
With the team sporting a 6-8-2 record in 16 games so far, head coach Mike Sullivan reports that Kevin Hayes is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Meanwhile, teammate Cody Glass has been diagnosed with a concussion, and there's no current set time for his return.
Matt Nieto, who has played just one game in the AHL so far this season, looks like he'll need more time there before he can fill a spot in the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup.
It's a tough spot for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who could really use anything other than bad news at this point in the 2024-25 NHL regular season. The Pens finished a recent three-game road trip at 1-1-1, and have some tough questions to answer moving forward.
It's not clear whether Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas is willing to make any big changes yet, but the team's record needs to improve or he won't be left with much choice. Especially if it's announced that Cody Glass and/or Kevin Hayes is out of the lineup long-term.
The Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the Dallas Stars in their next game on Monday night. The Stars look good so far in 2024-25, with a record of 8-5-0
