Chris Kreider has reportedly been placed on the trade block by the New York Rangers, and now four intriguing destinations have emerged for his services.
While the report comes as a shock to many, it's also a very understandable one, as the team want to make some big moves, and with a $6.5 million salary cap hit, he is certainly a moveable contract for New York.
Now, we have identified four teams as possible landing spots for the star forward, who has posted a solid 9 goals in 19 games thus far in 2024/25.
The first would be the Boston Bruins, who have scored the least amount of goals per game in the NHL this season at 2.32 per game, and after showing interest in Kreider previously, it's a landing spot that would benefit everyone involved.
Then we have the Colorado Avalanche, who are desperately looking to get healthy this season, and with several starters still on the sidelines, having a net front presence for Nathan MacKinnon makes this team even more dangerous.
Thirdly is the surprise team of the St. Louis Blues, who recently made a massive change at Head Coach, and with the team looking for high end talent alongside the emerging Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou and others, Kreider would make a great, experienced fit.
The last is perhaps the most interesting, with the Pittsburgh Penguins being a solid option for Kreider, and with Sidney Crosby struggling to find a winger alongside him that can consistently score, the Metropolitan Division rivals could make a shock trade.
Ultimately, at this point in time, all signs point to a deal moving Kreider out of New York, and while there's more than four teams that will be interested in his services, these ones certainly make the most sense if a deal can be made.
