The Montreal Canadiens will be without one of their promising young goaltenders, Quentin Miller, for several months due to upcoming shoulder surgery.

This setback impacts not only Miller's development but also the Rimouski Oceanic, who were hoping to count on him during the 2024-25 season.
After missing training camp, fans began to wonder why Quentin Miller, a 2023 fourth-round pick for the Canadiens, was absent. It was revealed that the 19-year-old suffered a right shoulder injury in a game against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, and surgery will be necessary. The news, confirmed by the team, leaves Miller out of action for an extended period, a blow to both him and the Rimouski Oceanic.
"The Montreal native will have to be out for a long time.

Unfortunately, an operation will be necessary in his case and he could be out for several months."
This means the Rimouski Oceanic, set to host the Memorial Cup in 2025, will have to move forward without their top goalie prospect for a good portion of the season.
To address the void left by Miller's injury, Rimouski has brought in Samuel St. Hilaire, a 6'2» goaltender from Sherbrooke Phoenix. St. Hilaire played two seasons with the QJMHL's Sherbrooke Phoenix, boasting a solid 2.41 GAA and .915 save percentage last season. He also represented Team Canada at the 2024 World Junior Championships, proving his reliability and skill in the net.
Miller, who posted a 2.60 GAA and .917 save percentage in his 15 games during the 2023-24 season, had hoped to be a key player for Rimouski this year. While his absence is a setback, there remains a chance that he could return in time for the Memorial Cup tournament.
Fans and teammates alike are sending their best wishes for a successful surgery and swift recovery. The Canadiens' future may still have a place for Quentin Miller, but for now, the focus remains on his health and rehabilitation.
