The Calgary Flames have finally unveiled the new look of their future arena, Scotia Place. The spotlight has now shifted to another NHL team, the Ottawa Senators.
There was a time just a few months ago when the Calgary Flames were at risk of potentially relocating, after it was unclear whether they were going to get a new NHL arena. Things have finally cleared up for the franchise with the unveiling of their new future home, and it's safe to say fans in Calgary no longer have anything to worry about. It's the total opposite situation when looking at the Ottawa Senators franchise.
Gary Bettman does not mess around when it comes to NHL teams playing in state of the art arenas, and the Sens desperately need a new one built. If they don't figure out a solution quick, their time in Ottawa is at risk of being done.
The league wants the Sens to remain in Ottawa, but to do so, they need a new arena, as was mentioned on the Jeff Marek Show. Now that the Calgary Flames have finally agreed to build theirs, Bettman will closely be watching the Senators and their ownership group, as there have been far too many delays in the past with building a new one in downtown Ottawa. The time is now for the Sens to act, and act quick they must!!
